Does anyone know what Liberals believe in?

liberals are a diverse group so there is no one thing that all liberals believe in. By and large we believe in restrained markets, the state and the role of the state in righting the imbalances that negative human actions/ideas have created. We believe in freedom but seek to limit exploitation. We believe in God but do not want to have public school teachers preaching to students. We believe in education but do not think that banks should make money off lending so that poor students go into debt to obtain it. We believe in labor but seek to reward innovation and creativity and feel that those in higher responsible/skilled positions should be paid more but that the hourly worker should not be neglected. We believe in lot of things, many times disagreeing with our fellows on key positions. This is a stark contrast to the GOP, which by and large, walks in lock-step and silences anyone in the party who dare speak outside of the agreed upon talking point.
