Why don't people like the name Primrose?

I actually like it, it is very original without being weird. My philosophy is 99% of the people who don't like it would say naming your child after say a spice(ie Ginger) is ok. So if the world can name children after spices, fruit and such why not a flower. Same as Rose to me, plus it would be cute on a little baby girl.
